>>OPSA
Social Events Diary for
thre rest of the year...
Tickets
Tickets to each event are available from the OPSA office, upstairs
in the Student Centre on Harbour Tce (where you got your ID
card from). There are often door sales to most gigs, but these
sell-out often beforehand (especially the popular big acts)
so there are no guarantees you'll get in.
Photo-age ID will be requested at events where alcohol is served.
No suitable photo-age ID = No entry, even if you have already
bought a ticket. Sure it's mean but it's also the only way we
can run such events. So you have been warned!
Passports
The ultimate guide to orientation - a passport. It costs $90
and gets you in to pretty much everything except the BeerFest
(see gigs labelled with a *).
Alcohol
Alcohol can certainly be fun, but if you drink too much there's
a good chance you'll regret it later. And no matter how much
you drink, don't forget to drink plenty of water during the
night.
All OPSA/DCESA events where alcohol is available are R18. All
OUSA alcohol events are R17 though special conditions apply
for 17 year olds - like absolutely no alcohol whatever. This
might sound a bit mean - but it's better than not be allowed
in at all, right?
Sex
Don’t forget the simple rule: no glove - no love. Even
if it’s the lead singer you've been dreaming of scoring
since you were 15...
Remember no means no, not 'maybe later' and certainly not 'maybe
if I get more pissed...'. Sexual harassment will not be tolerated
at any OPSA/DCESA/OUSA event. If you have any hassles see the
staff immediately.
Well that's about it - have a great Orientation and if you have
any questions or problems throughout Orientation or the year,
ask us at OPSA. That's what we’re here for.
